Education/Training

Associate degree in business or related field normally required; specialized cash management education/training; NMLS registry required.

Skill(s)

Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills; thorough knowledge of cash management products and services, as well as related bank operating policies and procedures; proficient technology skills; visual and auditory skills; valid driver’s license.

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years’ related experience normally required.

General Responsibilities

Responsible for promoting and selling business deposit services to business customers and municipalities and prospects of the Bank; cross-selling other products and services as appropriate and working to identify cross-selling opportunities; achieving goals as established in the department’s annual operating plan; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other Bank departments; communicating with appropriate personnel; responding to inquiries or requests for information; maintaining appropriate records and providing assigned reports. Provides post-sales support for business services customers (i.e. service after the sale).

Essential Duties

  1. Promotes and sells business deposit services to business customers, municipalities, non-profit groups and prospects of the Bank as illustrated by the following:
    • Assists in attaining the Bank’s business fee and deposit goals through cash management services and other business product promotions and sales efforts.
    • Participates in developing marketing strategies for cash management products, as well as product marketing plans and marketing materials.
    • Actively markets and sells cash management products and services to business banking clients and prospects; prepares proposals and contracts for cash management services to existing and prospective customers and answering questions regarding fees, pricing, potential for savings, products, processing, etc.
    • Attends networking and community events as appropriate to build referral relationships, actively identify and solicit new business opportunities, and to promote services of the Bank.
    • Facilitates the establishment of new deposit accounts by targeting prospects and new business customers and municipalities to secure their corporate banking relationships.
    • Manages a portfolio of deposits and actively mines these relationships for additional opportunities and referrals, making contact with clients on a regular basis; conducts annual site visit with clients as well as potential clients. Makes prospecting and protection calls.
    • Acts as the relationship manager for large, complex deposit relationships in conjunction with the Business Lenders where lending relationships exist.
    • Maintains an awareness of trends and new developments in the field of cash management services, attending industry conferences as appropriate.
    • Participates in new product development and product functionality, pricing, and positioning to ensure continued profitability and competitiveness.
    • Participates in cash management product installation, implementation, maintenance, product training and follow up with client to resolve issues when they arise, with requesting support by Deposit Operations when needed.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Manages and coordinates business services product file limit approvals and recommendations for completion of the risk assessment, issuance, renewal, increase, decrease or termination. Coordinates with Business Lenders and Credit Analysts as appropriate to the relationship. Will participate as needed in all aspects of product risk management, assessments, working with Deposit Operations including assisting with annual policy review and consulting with supervisors when needed.
  2. Participates with the Chief Lending Officer in establishing specific goals for the department; implements strategies to achieve these goals.
  3. Assists Operations Department in providing quick support and solutions for ACH, RDC, Business Online, Business Bill Pay, and Business Mobile Users.
  4. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the division as well as with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  5. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
  6. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements; ensures that the department and all personnel adhere to the same.
  7. Communicates with the Chief Lending Officer and appropriate staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
  8. Meets calling goals (to be established on an annual basis) focused on existing customers where the potential for additional sales of services exists, new customer prospects, and protection calls with existing customers.
  9. Reports to Business Services Specialist II regarding the planning of daily activities and strategies for the position and that of the Business Services Specialist II, in order to make the best use of time and resources toward the successful completion of the established customer calling goals.
  10. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other Bank personnel, customers, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  11. Maintains appropriate records and provides timely reporting to the Chief Lending Officer and other appropriate groups or individuals.
  12. Actively participates in business and community activities in a manner which reflects favorably on the Bank.
